Correct answer

Dmitri Mendeleev

Explanation

Dmitri Ivanovich Mendeleev (8 February 1834 – 2 February 1907) was a Russian chemist who developed the periodic table to classify the elements. In his 1871 table, he left "gaps" between the elements. This led to the discovery of several new elements in the years that followed. The non-naturally occurring element no. 101, Mendelevium, was synthesized for the first time in 1955 and subsequently named after Dmitri Mendeleev.
